SUPPORT MOSELEY IN JUDICIAL RACE - LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Greenville Herald-Banner
February 22, 2006

To the editor:

Kudos to the Herald-Banner for a very successful political forum Monday evening (Feb. 13). Candidates for the five races you scheduled were able to debate issues and get their messages out to the public. I only wish there would have been time for candidates in other races to participate, but I understand the time constraints (standing for two and a half hours was long enough for me).

A very important race has not even been mentioned in the Herald-Banner. Three Republican candidates are running for the 6th Court of Appeals that includes Hunt and 18 other counties in northeast Texas.

Andrew Khoury has signs all over Greenville (on right-of-ways and vacant lots) touting his experience. In reality, he is a 36-year-old personal injury trial lawyer in Longview.

The second candidate is M.C. Bruder, a 65-year-old criminal defense lawyer who practices in Dallas (which is not in the district) but lists his residence in Bonham, in the western end of the district. (At the same time he claims a homestead exemption on the house he owns in Richardson, which like his office is not in the district.) Bruder has had his law license suspended three times (1993, 1994 and 1999) by the State Bar of Texas. These suspensions were all for depositing funds belonging to his clients and others to his own accounts.

That gets me to the third candidate, Bailey Moseley of Marshall. He is a 61-year-old “small town” attorney, specializing in real estate, probate and trust law. He is considered an expert on these matters by the Texas State Bar. Bailey has also served on many boards and commissions in Marshall and Harrison County. He has been endorsed by the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Civil Justice League, the state’s leading Lawsuit Reform Advocacy Group, and the Texas Bipartisan Justice Committee.

I know Bailey Moseley to be an honest and fair conservative. His judicial, legal background and many years of public service will certainly be an asset to the 6th Court of Appeals.

Yours truly,

R.A. “Link” Linkenauger
